Sometimes it can be difficult to see the rainbow when it’s pouring, but tumblr_meg6xiumxH1ribhi6o1_400_large and Tumblr_lzsxlezsxq1qj73e2o1_500_large

because all your struggles or hardships are not in vain and they WILL PASS.

that comes with a MANIFESTED DREAM is yours.   The best thing to do when you don’t know what else to do,  and when you have expended all resources and emotion, is to find a way, any way to GET HAPPY.  If that means taping your face into a smile, you might have too ;  ) but more realistically just try to distract yourself into happiness, and then look at your situation again, and a new solution will be birthed.

 Most of all know, you’re not alone and that 422046_10150722124631368_8392031367_11746046_1210217838_n_large

I don’t always remember all this, but I sure do  TRY to download it  as much as possible.

“Everything is okay in the end, if it’s not ok, then it’s not the end.”

Buttons and rivets and pockets and cuffs,

and the thread that holds it together.

When the road gets rough and the sky gets jumpy and the stars start falling on top of your head and the wavesstart breaking against your legs;

It’s the thread in your seams that’s tied to your dreams.

It’s the sole in your feet that keep the beat;

You’re gonna be great, you’re gonna be great, you’re gonna be great;
You’re gonna find the cure, you’re gonna be famous, you’re gonna be shameless.
Spittin’ seeds in the wind, tap dancing with your shoe laces pinned, to the back
of a bus at the end of the road, at the bottom of the ninth, with a crown on your head

You’re a queen, you’re a king, you’re the solo act in a sold out show at a six story stadium, and you’re proud,you’re a hero! You got a hero’s grip.

Swingin’ by a single stitch. You follow your heart, follow the leader, you’re the leader;

Are you joking, are you breaking, are you shaking? You’re the next living leader of the world. You’re a kid.

Holding onto the thread. That holds it together.

Inspiration in a Minute

March 24, 2011

“Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, handsome, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?

Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to manifest the glory of God within us. It is not just in some; it is in everyone. And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

–Nelson Mandela, 1994 South African Presidential Inaugural Speech, quoting spiritual leader Marianne Williamson of the Church of Today in Detroit.

Novel Beauty

February 19, 2011

There is an unprecedented beauty that lies in being exactly who you are.

“Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the universe, a moment that will never be again.  And what do we teach our children? We teach them that two and two make four, and that Paris is the capital of France. When will we also teach them what they are?

We should say to each of them: Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique. In all the years that have passed, there has never been another child like you. Your legs, your arms, your clever fingers, the way you move. You may become a Shakespeare, a Michelangelo, a Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything.

If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.”

Henry David Thoreau

When Harry Met Sally

When Harry Met Sally

The 1989 film was written by Nora Ephron and directed by Rob Reiner.  It tells the story of two college graduates from the University of Chicago, Harry and Sally, who meet on a ride to New York.   Throughout the film you are taken in-and-out of their lives and through their journey to find love.

This is one of my favorite films. You can expect many references from this film in future blogs.  This is a collection of some love stories told in the film.

Pioneers! O Pioneer!
by Walt Whitman (1819-1892)

“You must be the change you want to see in the world.”- Mahatma Gandhi

“Don’t rely on someone else for your happiness and self worth. Only you can be responsible for that. If you can’t love and respect yourself – no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are – completely; the good and the bad – and make changes as YOU see fit – not because you think someone else wants you to be different.”-Stacey Charter

“I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do. ”Edward Everett Hale

“To be nobody-but-yourself — in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else — means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.” -E E Cummings

I realize it’s a beer commercial, but I love the content. It’s a really cool commercial with a capital message.

Amur in One Minute

September 24, 2009

I really like Coco Channel Commercials. They create a dream dipped in fanciful romance, with a begining, middle and end all in a matter of a minute.  How amazing would it be to star in one of these commercials? Maybe one day I’ll be able to answer that question. 🙂
